Kelly Barrell Erin Duncan Welcome Blank

Kelly Barrell and her husband, Wesley, have four beautiful children. Kelly was born in Jasper County, and is now providing needed services to her local community. Kelly graduated with an Advanced Master's Degree in Communication Disorders from Appalachian State University in May 2004. Kelly also attended Armstrong Atlantic State University for undergraduate studies in Speech Language Pathology. She is a member of South Carolina Speech-Language Hearing Association, and American Speech Language Hearing Association. She has experience working in outpatient facilities, public schools districts, BabyNet, Babies Can't Wait programs, and home health care. Her passion is working with pediatric patients; providing services to them and their families facilitating early intervention. Kelly's other interests include feeding therapy, children with autism, and the birth-3 population.

Erin Duncan and her husband, Todd, have three beautiful children. Erin is local to the Ridgeland area, and has a passion for providing services to this area. She graduated with her Master's Degree in Communication Disorders and Deaf Education from Utah State University, in May 2005. She is a member of the American Speech Language Hearing Association and the South Carolina Speech Language Hearing Association. Erin has worked in a variety of settings, including, in-home early intervention, hospital and school based. She has experience in neurological, genetic, and developmental disorders of communication and swallowing.

Kelly and Erin are responsible for organizing staff development, clinical directing, staff hiring and supervision, advertising, long-term strategic planning and financial decisions, collaborating on short and long term goals to ensure growth and out-reach to other professional, parents and educators as well as maintaining caseloads. They have designed and presented in-services for several preschool centers and parent groups.

Kelly Marconyak

Full Time

Kelly R Marconyak graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in 2004 with a Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology. Starting her career in Hilton Head provided her an opportunity to be closer to her roots, in Effingham County Ga. She then moved to Maui Hawaii, where she worked in the schools, did early intervention and worked in a skilled nursing facility. She has since moved to Beaufort with her husband and daughter, to be closer to family. She has experience in a variety of settings, but has always loved working with children. She is certified in PECS (picture exchange communication) and the Beckman Oral Motor program. She enjoys going to the beach and scrap booking in her spare time. Kelly holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is licensed in the state of South Carolina, Hawaii and Georgia.

Michelle Hiers

Michelle Hiers is originally from Estill, South Carolina but has recently moved to Beaufort with her family. She received her BA from the University of South Carolina in English and is a die hard Carolina Gamecock football fan. She then received her Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from South Carolina State University, and holds the Certificate of Clinical Competence. Michelle is a member of the South Carolina Speech and Language Hearing Association as well as the American Speech and Language Association. After taking a seven year leave of absence from the field to raise her three beautiful daughters along with her husband and best friend, Jeff, she has returned to the field to work part time. Before leaving, Michelle was the owner of a private practice in Hampton, South Carolina for five years. She loves working with children and has missed their smiling faces. She is happy to be practicing speech again and in her "infrequent" spare time loves to play tennis, run, and best of all, be with her husband and girls anywhere in a boat on the RIVER!

Amy Thompson
Amy Thompson, M.A., CCC-SLP

Originally from Pennsylvania, Amy Thompson received her bachelor's degree in Communication Science from the University of Pittsburgh before seeking warmer weather and a Master's degree from the University of South Carolina. The ensuing years found her traveling to many states, working as a speech-language pathologist in settings from skilled nursing facilities to head start centers to elementary schools. California kept her captive for 6 years until taking time off to raise two sons. Amy is thrilled to be back working in South Carolina. Her interests include language disorders and culturally and linguistically diverse populations. Amy holds a Certificate of Clinical Competency from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association and is licensed in the state of South Carolina. She has trained in the Hanen Centre's It Takes Two to Talk program. Amy and her husband are raising their family in beautiful Beaufort.
